Did
you know that poorly fitting running shorts and singlets can cause
excessive rubbing, chaffing and even severe skin rash?
The biggest culprit for causing chaffing is cotton clothing because
once it gets wet from perspiration it tends to stay wet and also tends
to hug your body.
That's why it is important that you select light weight and loose
clothing that does not cause
rubbing. The best clothing to wear for your marathon preparation is
either light nylon, `Coolmax' or `PolyPro' clothing. That way the
perspiration is wicked away from your skin and evaporates rapidly and
prevents chaffing, rubbing and skin rash
