Marathon Focus

Here is a quick tip to stop your mind from wandering during the race and to remain focused
on your goal of running a marathon:

As you progress further into your marathon you may find that your mind starts to wander. As your mind wanders, you may find that your form starts to drop off because you are no longer as focused as you could potentially be.

To bring your mind back to the present and on what you are doing, become aware of the mileage markers along the marathon course. As you pass each marathon marker, consciously use it as a reminder to focus on your technique. If you are into affirmations, you could consciously say to yourself `I am at mile X and am being steadily pulled towards the finish'.

You could also remind yourself of the vision you created of what you want to achieve from your marathon and bring that vision into the forefront of your mind as a way of focusing on the present.

You will find more techniques on how to focus during your race to reach your potential in "Marathon Bible" - available for a limited time by clicking on the following link:

                                                              Marathon Bible

"The seed you sow today will not produce a crop until tomorrow. For this reason, your identity does not lie in your current results. This is not who you are. Your current results are who you were." -- James A. Ray

That is why you are not bound by your past. If you truly want to finish a marathon
then it is your future that dictates that reality, not your past.
