Here is a quick tip about how to improve
your marathon performance by looking after your diet
in the lead-up to your marathon:
It has been estimated by experts that you can improve your marathon
performance by up to 16
minutes by eating the correct foods during your marathon preparation.
If you are like most marathoners, then you typically don't see your
diet as having an
important effect on your marathon performance. If you are like most
marathoners then you will
typically put all of your efforts into increasing your weekly mileage
and training harder during
your sessions.
But there is an easier way to improve your marathon performance.
This is through carbohydrate loading.
Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose - a form of sugar - which is
then broken down further into glycogen. Glycogen is then stored in your
system and released in the form of energy during endurance activities.
You can increase the amount of glycogen in your system by increasing
the amount of carbohydrates in your diet... and thereby improve your
marathon performance.
When training for your marathon, you should aim to have approximately
20% proteins, 30% fats and 50% carbohydrates in your diet. That way,
you are getting all the essential vitamins and
minerals your body requires.
In the week before your race, you should then aim to increase your
carbohydrates to around
70% of your intake. This is known as carbohydrate loading and acts to
give you more sustained
endurance levels during your marathon race.
What else do you not know that could improve your marathon performance
without
training any harder during your training sessions? That's why you must
download your copy
of `Marathon Bible'. When are you truly going to get the most out of
your next marathon?

we feel capable of
doing, others judge us only by what we have already done." -- Henry
