Marathon Motivation

Here's a quick tip about how to keep yourself motivated once you resume your marathon training after the recovery phase:

A month after you finish your marathon your body should be ready to start getting back into a
regular training routine.

Depending on your goals, you may find a lack of motivation to continue training. This is especially if you find that your form has dropped off from where you were before your marathon.

It is important to realize that it is normal for your form to drop off after your recovery period.

Why?

It is just the way your body works... it is a general rule that it takes around two weeks for
every week you take off for your form to return to normal.

Therefore if you have taken a month off training to allow your body to recover from the race, it
should take you around two months to get back into the pre-race peak physical condition you are used to.

If you are lacking motivation because your form has dropped off, just remind yourself that this
is a natural state to be in after your recovery period.
